The Android team just announced via Google+ that a new version of Google Now is available with a handsome set of new and useful features. As you can see on the left, once you download the latest version (provided you're running Jelly Bean), you'll automatically receive any public safety alerts in your area, like hurricane and tornado warnings. And much like the picture on the right, you'll also be able to control which sports teams Google Now informs you about. You are no longer just at the mercy of your search history. Finally, Google Now will also start showing information about your favorite movies, including play times and locations of nearest movie theaters. This can happen automatically, if you're just standing next to a movie theater.
